Injuries and Fatalities Related to Skid Steers: 2015–2020

Skid steers are versatile self-propelled machines that regularly used in a variety of recreational applications and occupational industries. They can be hazardous for both operators bystanders. The purpose this paper is to describe patterns skid steer injuries the US from 2015 2020. Data were obtained Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) accident reports severe injury database. Agriculture-related incidents AgInjuryNews. study identified 312 steer-related (2015–2020) OSHA, with an additional 68 agricultural using AIN. Construction, administrative waste management, agriculture industries top three highest number injuries. Bystander workers experienced higher than operators. Contact machine was most prevalent more fatal other events. Agricultural involved broad age range victims, very young children adults. These findings emphasize need improved safety engineering clear guidelines those who around steers. With increased prevalence across industries, it imperative have cohesive comprehensive regulations, guidelines, policy enforcement.
